This is the page where you will find litter updates and other relevent news to the Shoebutton Gang and what they are up to in the Dog World.

Ch Shoebutton's Beau Burnside (Sam) transitioned to the Heavens on Christmas day. We at Shoebutton miss him so much He was 9.5 years old and had so much life in him until his last 5 days. He was struck with a rare lung disease, Pulmonary Fibrosis which by the time symptons appear, it is too late.

Sam's win at The Agility 2009 Invitational in Long Beach, CA made us all very proud. We also had to give the boy an extra pat for winning The Norwich Terrier Club of America's Versatility Excellent Award. He is the second Norwich to ever win such an honor! The award is given to a dog who has his AKC Championship, an Excellent title in a performance venue, a title in a field venue or an obedience disipline. It is all calculated by points, but the dog must have points in each disipline. Thanks to his talented handler in Agility and Earth Dog, Marion Shaw, he was able to receive this award for 2009. This 2010 year he had been winning Q's and racking up MACH points. He also got 2 legs toward his Master Earth Dog which is quite an accompolishment for a Norwich!

Sam was the first litter I bred at Shoebutton, the first dog I ever finished in Bred-By-Exhibitor and the first dog I put an agility title on after 2 years of training him myself. Needless to say, we have learned a lot together over the last 9 years. Appreciation is extended to his co-owner Joan Dance for also believing in him from the day he was born....Namaste my little guy. Your paw print will be stamped on my heart forever....I will write you a tribute when I come out of shock.

The week old Shoebutton babies.
The latest Shoebutton news is the May 16, 2010 litter that consists of two boys and 2 girls! Parents are CH Shoebutton's Miss Lela Bliss and CH Oakwood's Gummi Bear at Scalawag. Babies have all doubled their weight at week's end and Mom is an excellent caretaker. The pups will follow the "Auntie Mame" movie theme of being named from actors or characters from the 1950's classic version starring Rosiland Russell. Check here for frequent updates as they are growing up as well as their future AKC names which are yet to be determined. I like to observe personalities and then fit to the name.
